What to Expect in Your First Session

Starting therapy is a courageous step, and we're honored to walk alongside you. Your first session, often called the intake session, is a gentle and collaborative conversation where your clinician will get to know you—your story, your needs, and your hopes for healing. Together, you’ll explore what brings you in and begin to map out a path forward, grounded in compassion, safety, and trust.

Before your first appointment, we’ll send you a few comprehensive electronic assessments. These are thoughtfully designed to help us get a holistic picture—not just of your mental health, but of your whole-body wellness, lifestyle, and lived experience. This allows us to come into your first session already having insight into who you are, so we can spend more time focusing on what matters most to you.

We believe that healing happens in relationship and through consistency, so we offer therapy on a recurring weekly schedule. Our intake coordinator will help align a time that works best for you and your clinician to meet regularly, so you have a steady space for growth, regulation, and reflection.
